According to recent reports Spotify Car View mode is missing, not activating when connecting the phone with Android Auto Instead, now the Spotify app only reportedly displays the following message: ‘Always pay full attention to the road and abide with all traffic regulations’.

What appeared to be a bug turned out to be intentional. A moderator of the Spotify support forum confirmed that the Car View mode was removed. The company is working on something better.
We can confirm that we’re retiring the car view feature. This however doesn’t mean we don’t want to improve on how our users listen to Spotify while driving. On the contrary, we’re actively exploring a variety of new ways to deliver the best in-car listening experience. Think of retiring car-view as something that needs to happen in an effort to make way for new innovations coming down the track.
Please bear with us for the time being. While we work backstage on improving the experience, one alternative would be to listen hands-free via Google Assistant.
Officials recommend linking Spotify with the Google Assistant and activating the hands-free mode with the command ‘Hey Google, play Spotify’.
The hands-free mode is compatible with the Google Maps app. Therefore, it should serve as a temporary solution to listen to music while driving, without touching the phone.
