People on Reddit and AC Forums have reported that they are facing a weird issue where the audio will completely disappear or keep on bugging out. Finding a fix for the same is difficult for the non-techies out there, in this article we’ve written a few fixes that you can try to fix the audio bug in AC Valhalla.
Note: First you’ll have to identify what is causing the problem. For some people, the audio is working during cutscenes and intro videos but disappearing while playing the game. For some the audio disappears only during certain missions.
No sound anymore. I played yesterday without any issue. Since the update, I have 2 issues:
- The first video freezes 5 seconds during loading (Ubisoft logo)
- There is no sound anymore in menu and game.
I got the same issue, there is some sound at the startup screen, there is the sound of Alexios, but there is no sound in the menu, no background music, dialogue without sound, subtitles, and the npc mouth is not moving when they speaking...
You can use the following methods for fixing the audio issue in Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Fix Audio Settings via Sound Control Panel
Only use a single device and disable all the other devices. For example, if you are only using speakers then disable headphones and other output devices for a while. To do so, head to the Sound Control Panel > Click on Playback > Find your device.
No need to worry, Ubisoft is aware of this issue and is currently working on a fix.

Update 1
An update has rolled out for the game now on steam (if you dont see it, close and reopen steam a few times and check your downloads) and from what i can see of the short 5 minutes i have played, the sounds should be back and fixed as.
If sound issue not fixed for you try this
Please restart your clients if you haven't already done so and the update should download again. If it doesn't automatically download verifying your installation should force the update.
