Halo Infinite is an upcoming title in the much-beloved Halo series. It is developed by 343 industries and published by Xbox Game Studios.
While the game was revealed in E3 2018 and was planned to come out last year, Microsoft revised the release date to December of 2021.
A Halo Infinite desync issue has been discovered by players and it could be a clue to the hit registration problems some players have been dealing with, but there's good news: 343 Industries has been made aware of the situation
One of these issues is a massive desync problem in the game. And now it looks like this issue is bigger than expected.
Halo Infinite Major Desync Problem Could Be Causing Hit Registration Issues.
Despite the many issues currently in the game, Halo Infinite managed to reach ‘Very Positive’ Steam reviews. But now a video clearly shows the major desync problem in Halo Infinite and how to recreate the issues.
Halo player ‘Tim Burton’ took to their Youtube channel to share a video showcasing the desync problem in the Halo Infinite.
This desync glitch has been happening in Halo Infinite since the first BTB Flight. As seen in the video, the player is driving around exploring the map, and passing through tight corners. However, the same player is stuck in front of a wall on the server-side of the things.
This simply means that even though you might be on one part of the map on your screen, the server might not register it due to desync. Reddit user ‘TonySoprano300‘ took to Halo’s subreddit to share their concerns regarding this desync glitch.
The post quickly became a serious topic of discussion within the community. And a lot of players believe that desync is also responsible for hit registration issues in Halo Infinite. Many users further pointed out that the desync is why players need to fire extra shots sometimes to finish off their enemies.
"Desync," in technical terms, means that your game client and the server aren't properly synchronized. As seen in the (rather extreme) case in the tutorial video, this can result in the player being in one place on their end whereas the server recognizes them as being somewhere else entirely. Critically, this Halo Infinite desync issue could lead to clues about hit registration issues that have been reported by some players.
Hopefully, 343's investigation of this problem will lead to a better online experience for all. You can enjoy the newest multiplayer Halo experience by playing Halo Infinite multiplayer for free on PC and Xbox via its official website.
