Twitch Rivals will invite 8 captains to a single day Halo: Infinite tournament. These captains will be split evenly amongst legacy and modern classes, with each advised to invite teammates based on the era they were known for competing in. Once all teams are finalized they will be split into groups of 4 teams each for the tournament.
One group will be filled with the legacy teams, one group will be filled with the modern teams. Each group will see its teams compete in a round robin to determine their group rankings. After the group ranks are determined, each team will compete in a final match against the team from the other group that matches their rank. Group A’s 1st place team will compete against Group B’s 1st place team, 2nd place will compete against 2nd place, so on and so forth. The group winning more matches in the cross-group stage will be the event’s champions. Will it be legacy or modern Halo players?
Tournament Format
The tournament will have 2 stages, a round robin group stage and a cross-group matches stage. During the round robin group stage, 4 teams will compete in each group to determine their individual group stage rankings. During the cross-group matches stage each team will compete against the team with their matching rank from the opposite group. All matches will be best-of-5 and follow the recently announced HCS 2022 format.
