iPhone iOS 15.1 No text message Notifications on iphone Lock Screen

Many iPhone users after updating to the latest iOS 15 are facing issues that they are not receiving text message notifications when the lock screen is ON, in iPhone 13/12 Pro Max, iPhone X,11 etc. The issue was not there prior to iOS 15.1 update. The general settings to show the notification on lock screen like “show on lock screen" and "show previews' ',  Do Not Disturb etc are enabled to show notifications but still the notifications on iPhone are not showing on lock screen which is weird and annoying.

This is annoying as iPhone shows No iMessage notifications when locked since iOS 15 update. When the iPhone 12 Pro Max screen is off, no sound/chime is played for new messages. Texts and iMessages are not notified on the iPhone lock screen. It is very annoying not getting text notifications through Apple Watch and iPhone 13 Pro when the iPhone is locked.  Hopefully Apple will remedy this in a future IOS update, until then we have listed some possible fixes that you may try to fix the issue.

How to fix iPhone Cannot get text message notifications to display properly on lock screen: iPhone 7,8 Plus, iPhone XR,XS MAX, iPhone 13,12 Pro Max, iPad, iOS 15.2

Fix : Check Apple Watch settings

If you are using Apple watch with the iPhone then this could be the reason for notification not working on iPhone lock screen. On the Apple Watch scroll down from the main screen be sure that the "bell" is not turned off as this will disable notification on the iPhone as well.

You may also Turn ON the hepatic touch to Prominent instead of Default on watch app to know that you have got a notification.

Fix : Check Hide Alert notification

In the message app if Hide Alert setting is on for the contact, then you may not get the notification from that contact message. Swipe Left on the message conversation and check the settings are not enabled to Hide Alert.

Fix : Check Schedule Summary settings

For some reason after iOS 15.1 update the iPhone notification is set to notify only during Scheduled Summary.  Check inside Settings > Notifications > Messages. There you can uncheck messages if you have configured it to show up under summaries.

Fix : Check Siri Settings(For AirPod user)

After iOS 15.1/ iOS 15.2 updates it is seen that after turning on ‘Announce Messages with Siri’ (a feature that allows Siri to read your messages out loud when wearing AirPods), the iPhone is not  getting notified of incoming messages on the lock screen when the iPhone is asleep. Please note that it’s a feature only for AirPods.

Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages > Announce Messages with Siri and turn this off & check if this fixes the issue.

Fix : Reset Network Settings

Due to some network setting glitch you may not receive the notification properly on the iPhone. We recommend you to reset network settings on the iPhone  to fix any glitch in Network settings. Go to iPhone Setting-> General->Reset or Transfer iPhone-> Reset Network setting. Your iPhone will reboot after this and then check if this helps.
