Sea of Thieves matchmaking & gold or reputation issue acknowledge

Sea of Thieves is a popular multiplayer game which has been around on Windows and Xbox One since 2018. Also, the video game was ported to Xbox Series X/S in November 2020.

While many people play Sea of Thieves across the said platforms, it seems some issues have been spoiling their experience.

As per multiple reports, Sea of Thieves players are not getting gold and reputation in exchange for chests.

Moreover, there are issues where players are unable to see any NPCs in Sanctuary Outpost and face problems during matchmaking.

Sea of Thieves is having server issues this morning, leaving players unable to access the game.

Players attempting to log into Rare’s pirate-themed multiplayer sandbox are experiencing long connection times, and connection failure errors. The primary error, Alabasterbeard, relates to server issues specifically and is affecting the game across all platforms. From Rare’s support site:

As per multiple reports, Sea of Thieves players are experiencing matchmaking issues.

It seems these issues are widespread and users are unable to play Sea of Thieves properly because of them.

Official acknowledged

However, affected users may not have to face these problems for long as they have been acknowledged officially while some of them have been fixed altogether.

We're continuing to investigate the reports surrounding matchmaking and we hope to have an update tomorrow. Players affected by delays in Gold when selling should now see it begin to appear in game.

Thank you for your patience as the team works to resolve this.
