The Boston-based tech company, GasBuddy, provides fuel prices in real-time at hundreds of thousands of gas stations across the US.
Users can have access through the GasBuddy app or website, however, there seems to be an issue with the services, per recent reports, the GasBuddy app is not working for multiple users and is giving the timed out errors.
A lot of users have been facing this issue and are getting the error codes 1000 and 504 when the app is launched.
Some users even reported that the issue was affecting both the app and website, but the latter appears to be working now.
However, affected users of the app may not have to dwell with the said issue for long as a fix is being looked into.
The official GasBuddy Twitter handle has acknowledged the app not working issue stating that they are experiencing slowdowns.
Also, it seems that this is server side issue which has been caused by a high volume of users but the Gasbuddy engineering team is working on a fix.
Hi GasBuddies, we are aware of some slowdowns with the app. Our engineers are furiously working to keep all services available, but we are encountering record-breaking traffic to the app and website. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve any issues!
Since it is quite natural for services like GasBuddy to have high user volumes, there should be proper measures to prevent such issues beforehand.
While it is still good to see that the issue is being looked into, it is still causing inconvenience to users.
Hopefully, GasBuddy soon resolves the server side problem so that users can access the app without any hassle.
That said, we will be back with more details as and when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
