Primark has said it hopes to launch a new website in the coming month which is drastically change how shoppers can interact with their favourite clothing store. The bargain retailer has been a firm favourite for many UK fashion lovers for years.

But Primark has been very adverse to online shopping for years. However, that could be taking a step closer in the next few weeks as the retailer is planning to launch a new website with click-and-collect being brought in.

Reports suggest that the new Primark website could bring in real-time stock updates meaning that people will be able to find an item they want and go buy it. John Bason, finance director of Primark’s owner, Associated British Foods, told Reuters that click-and-collect would definitely be a feature they would look at moving forward.

He said: "We’re making the digital move forward in a very big way in both the UK and the rest of Europe. That will generate sales and profits for us. Does this give us a capability to move further forward? Well let’s have a look at that."

He added: "If there was an e-commerce opportunity for us, it will probably be more in the area of click-and-collect."

Many shoppers have been begging Primark to offer home delivery for years but Bason shut down the idea of home delivery once again arguing it didn't bring "value."

He said: "You can’t get our value by delivery to home, it’s as simple as that". Primark says the new website will better showcase its 10,000 products, provide customers with near real-time information on product availability by store and enable Primark to mine the data of its over 24 million active "engagers".
