Fix Diablo Immortal Crashing on Android and iOS
Diablo Immortal – How to Fix Crashing on Android, iOS, and PC
Before we get started with the guide, you should know that this guide has been written prior to the launch of the game and will be updated 24 hours after the game comes out. So, if your issues are not resolved at the time of launch, come back when the post is updated.
Fix Diablo Immortal Crashing on PC at Launch or to Desktop
Before you start with any troubleshooting, ensure that your system meets the minimum requirement to play the game. The requirement to play the game is not much so most players should fulfill the requirement. Once that’s cleared, this is what you need to do.
Perform the Below Tweaks
Disable voice chat – If you have access to the menu, try to disable the voice chat and see of that makes a difference.
Turn off any FPS limit – If you have limited the FPS from the game settings or Nvidia, try to remove that. If you have set it to unlimited, try to limit it to 60 FPS and see if that makes a difference.
Try disconnecting the controller – if you have a controller connected to the PC that can also cause the game to crash sometimes. Try to remove the controller and check if Diablo Immortal crashes.
Perform a Clean Boot
A clean boot environment helps address a lot of potential issues that can cause crashing in Diablo Immortal. It suspends all third-party applications at startup eliminating any problematic application that could be conflicting with the game. It also frees resources on your PC so it can perform better. Here are the steps you can follow.
Press Windows Key + R and type msconfig, hit Enter
Go to the Services tab
Check Hide all Microsoft services (Important Step)
Now, click Disable all
Go to the Startup tab and click on Open Task Manager
Disable one task at a time and restart the system.
Once the PC boots up, try playing the game and check if the issue has been resolved.
Reinstall or Update DirectX Files and Visual C++ Redistributable
Another common reason why games crash on PC is because of a problem with the Visual C++ Redistributable or the DirectX files. Just to be safe, ensure that these files are updated. You can follow the below links to update the files.
DirectX Files
Visual C++ Redistributable
Ensure the GPU driver is updated
When the game started to crash, the first thing you would have done is to update the graphics card driver, but if you have not done it yet, perform the update. Do not use the windows search to determine the best driver. Instead, use the GeForce Experience to download and update the driver. When installing the driver, perform a clean install.
Scan and Repair Game Files
If there was a problem while installing the game, it might be the cause of the crashing issue in Diablo Immortal. The scan and repair feature in the Battle.Net launcher allows you to scan the game files for corruption and replace it. Here are the steps:
Open the Battle.Net launcher and click on the cogwheel/settings icon
Choose Scan and Repair
Wait for the process to complete
Check Internet Connection
Ensure that the problem is not with your internet connection. Diablo Immortal is an always-online game and an issue with your connection might also lead to the game crashing. Perform the basic troubleshooting and try to play another online game. Reset the router or power cycle it to fix any issue with a bad cache on the router.
Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling
If the game is choppy, slow, and crashing, then enabling the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling can help the game perform better and hopefully stop the crashes. Here is how you can enable it.
Press Windows Key + I or go to Windows Settings and select System
Click on the Graphics Settings link at the bottom
Turn on Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
Next, click on Browse and go to This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Diablo Immortal > add Diablo Immortal Launcher
Click on Options and set it to High Performance
Hardware-accelerate GPU scheduling
Provide Admin Permission to Diablo Immortal Launcher
Sometimes lack of admin permission to the Diablo Immortal Launcher can cause the game to crash. Ensure that you have provided admin permission to prevent the Diablo Immortal crashing. Here are the steps you can follow.
Go to This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Diablo Immortal > Diablo Immortal Launcher (the location can vary depending on where you have chosen to install the game)
Right-click on Diablo Immortal Launcher and choose Properties
Go to the Compatibility tab and check Run this program as an administrator.
That’s it. Hopefully, the Diablo Immortal crashing on startup is resolved by following this step. If not then the final step is to reinstall the game.
Reinstall Diablo Immortal
If the crashing problem with Diablo Immortal is still not resolved, your final option may be to reinstall the game completely. But, if you don’t want to do that wait for a day after which we will update the post and the new fixes may help you.
Fix Diablo Immortal Crashing on Android and iOS
Players on mobile devices do not have as many troubleshooting steps as on PC, but there are still some things you can do if Diablo Immortal is crashing on Android or iOS.
If the game is crashing, try restarting the device completely and then launch the game. If the game still crashes after the reboot, ensure that you have the latest version of the game, and update it if there is a new version available.
For Android users, you can try ad additional step and clear the cache of the game. Go to the Diablo Immortal app settings and clear the cache. If the issue still persists, reset the application entirely. You can do it from the Diablo Immortal app settings. Just choose the option Clear Data.
If none of the above fixes have helped, your final option is to reinstall the game both on Android and iOS.
That’s all we have in this guide, but we will update the post once the game comes out and we have had time to experiment with it.
