Squid Game is happening in real life! Yes, you read that right. Netflix just announced they would be airing a reality show that allows one of the 456 players a chance to win $4,56 million. The casting is now open and we have all the details about the same.
When Squid Game first aired on television, people were shocked by the synopsis as it was different and something that was never seen before.
It did not take long for the series to become one of the most-watched shows on the platform. With Season 2 going into production, the streaming giant has now come forward and confirmed that a reality show based on the same will be coming soon as well.
How to apply for Squid Game as casting opens
If you wish to apply for the casting, you can do so by clicking on the link here. There are three options to apply, one is for the US citizens, the other one is for the UK citizens, and lastly, an option for the global citizens.
While there are three different options, people will have to go through the same process in the hopes of becoming one of the 456 players.
If you wish to apply, you have to write your basic information and attach a video explaining why you want to be a part of the show and how you would deal with the challenges that are thrown your way. At the same time, you will be asked to submit your photographs.
What we know about Squid Game 2
Recently, Netflix confirmed that the show will be returning for a second season. To add to this, viewers will get to see Young-hee’s boyfriend Cheol-Su. The character of Young-hee became famous with her Her Red Light, Green Light, or Mugunghwa Kkoci Pieot Seumnida song.
The doll was also used by Netflix to promote the show with pop-ups appearing in different parts of the world. At the moment, it is unclear how Cheol-Su would be brought into the picture.
Hwang Dong-hyuk’s announcement explored
Hwang Dong-hyuk, who is the director and the producer of the show, thanked all the fans for their constant support. He looked back at how the script took years to develop and the amount of love the series has received from fans all over the world.
Talking about some of the things that fans can expect from the upcoming season, he noted: “Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. Season 2 is coming. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su.”
As of now, a confirmed date for the new season has not been released.
