Unfortunately for Xbox gamers, some aspects of Xbox Live are down, making it difficult to launch games and more.

Microsoft's Xbox Live service is typically fairly reliable, but it seems to have been having more trouble than usual as of late. Back in May, there were numerous Xbox Live problems over the course of a few days, causing headaches for Xbox gamers who just wanted to play their games. And in the age of digital media, even playing games offline can prove tricky when an Xbox console isn't always connected to the company's online services.
The Xbox Live outage issues from last month were eventually resolved, but now the service is down yet again as of Saturday, June 11. Microsoft has specifically pointed out two areas of Xbox Live that are not currently working. As of the time of this writing, anyone trying to enjoy Xbox cloud gaming, available through one's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, is completely unable to do so. Not only that, but Xbox gamers are reporting difficulty launching games and connecting to the Xbox's online services in general.
The good news is that Microsoft is aware of the issue and working on a fix. Most of the time, Microsoft is able to fix the Xbox Live service issues relatively quick, so hopefully fans don't have to wait too long for the problem to be resolved. However, there have been instances in the past where Xbox Live issues were prolonged, like was the case with the problems in May, but hopefully we don't see a repeat of that and the problems are resolved in short order.
Is Xbox Live Down Today?
It's bad timing for Xbox Live to be down, as this is a huge weekend for Microsoft and the Xbox brand. While E3 2022 is canceled, Microsoft will be hosting an E3-equivalent presentation called the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on Monday, June 13 . The showcase is said to be about 95 minutes long and will focus on a variety of upcoming games that are in development for Xbox consoles. Heavy hitters are expected to make an appearance at the show, so Xbox fans should be sure to tune in.
Unfortunately, if these Xbox Live problems persist, Xbox gamers may have difficulty watching the showcase on their console. It's unlikely that the Xbox Live service problems will continue for that long, but we'll see what happens. We'll update this article as soon as Xbox Live services are fully restored.
